Certificates/Awards

Having the “Creating the Natural Outdoor Classroom” certificate is helpful for a teacher because it shows their ability to use outdoor spaces as meaningful learning environments. Attaining this certificate has taught me how nature can support children in multiple different ways, including emotionally, physically, socially, and cognitively, through engaging in hands-on exploration. This certificate helped me to understand how to design engaging outdoor activities that encourage curiosity, problem-solving and connection to the land. Getting this certificate also assisted in my commitment to child-centred learning and the ability to extend the classroom beyond its typical four walls.

Having the “Health Eating in a Childcare Setting” certificate is valuable for me because it shows that I understand the importance of nutrition and a well-balanced diet, especially for growing minds. Good nutrition will benefit a child’s growth, development and learning. Attaining this certificate has taught me how I can set an example and promote healthy eating habits. This knowledge will help me to support my student’s overall well-being and help them stay focused, energized and ready to learn. This also shows that I care about more than just academic development, I care about their physical health, too.

Having the “Responsible Adult” certificate is beneficial because it shows that I understand the basics of child development, safety and effective guidance. Attaining this certificate was valuable as it helped me to understand the commitment to creating a safe and supportive environment for children, which is essential in every classroom. This certificate also assists in building trust between parents and teachers, showing that the individual is prepared to handle responsibility and support children’s well-being. Having this certificate gives me added experience in communication with children and caregivers while also recognizing the specific needs of each learner.
