BC Curriculum

https://curriculum.gov.bc.ca/

The BC curriculum is created on the idea that learning should be flexible, student-focused and connected to real-life experiences. It values critical thinking, creativity and personal growth while also allowing students to explore their identities and develop skills that will help them become the best versions of themselves. One of the most meaningful aspects of this curriculum is its focus on Indigenous perspectives and the First Peoples Principles of Learning. The recognition of the importance of land-based learning, oral traditions and interconnection takes the proper steps toward honouring truth and reconciliation in education. The BC Curriculum encourages students to be curious, engaged and lifelong learners. It challenges educators in a way that supports diverse learning styles while also embracing different cultures. The curriculum’s emphasis on personal growth and inclusivity is a step in the right direction toward a more compassionate education for all.
